It had been a little while since I had the honour of photographing a Sikh wedding, so I thought it would be nice to share a few moments from Manpreet and Kishan’s amazing day.
Their religious ceremony took place at a newly built Gurdwara Sahib temple in Leicester. It was an early start for a wedding day, or early-ish at least, with the ceremony beginning at 9.30am. I met Kishan first for his entrance, and a little while later Manpreet made hers. The moment she saw him for the first time as she walked into the temple was beautiful.
I was flying solo on this wedding without a second shooter, but the ceremony space was huge which meant I could move freely and capture everything from a range of angles. It is not something you can usually do in a church or a small registry room, so it was a real treat to have that freedom.
Once the ceremony finished, the celebrations continued at Ragley Hall in Alcester, Birmingham. It was a bit of a trek from Leicester, but completely worth it. Ragley Hall is set within 6,500 acres of incredible landscape surrounded by impressive architecture. It brought a real sense of grandeur to the second part of their day.
Here are a few images from their wedding...
