Ana and Tom’s Summer Wedding
Ana and Tom’s wedding at Wethele Manor last summer was one of those days that just felt easy from the start. Proper summer sunshine, loads of laughter, and a group of people who were clearly just buzzing to be there.
Wethele Manor in Warwickshire is a brilliant venue for that kind of relaxed celebration. It looks great without trying too hard, and there’s loads of space to let the day unfold naturally. As a preferred supplier there, I’ve photographed quite a few weddings at Wethele, and it’s always a solid choice. It just works.
Getting Ready
The morning had that mix of calm and excitement that you get when it finally feels real. Ana was getting ready in one of the light filled rooms overlooking the grounds, which is ideal for natural photos. No harsh lighting, no awkward shadows, just clean soft light and real moments.
Tom and the lads were in good spirits too. Suits on, bit of banter, a few quiet moments when it suddenly hits that this is actually happening. Those are the moments I like to capture. Nothing staged, nothing forced. Just what’s actually going on.
The Ceremony
Wethele Manor is such a lovely place for a ceremony. The space feels intimate without being cramped, and the natural light makes everything feel soft and warm which is perfect for photography.
Ana and Tom’s ceremony had that real mix of nerves and excitement. You could see it in the way they looked at each other. There’s always that moment when it properly sinks in that this is it, we’re actually married. Those are the bits I’m always watching for. The quick glances, the smiles, the reactions from family in the front row. That’s the good stuff.
One of the reasons weddings at Wethele Manor feel so relaxed is because Simon and his team really know what they’re doing. Everything just flows. There’s no stress, no awkward waiting around, and no feeling like things are running behind. They quietly handle everything in the background so couples can just enjoy the day. It makes a massive difference and you genuinely feel like you’re in safe hands there.
Portraits Around Wethele Manor
After the ceremony we took a relaxed walk around the grounds. One of the best things about Wethele Manor is how easy it is to move between different spots without disappearing for ages. Gardens, open space, bits of countryside, all within a few minutes.
Ana and Tom were great. No awkward posing, no stiff smiles. Just a bit of direction when needed and then letting them be themselves. That’s always the goal. Natural photos that still feel like them in ten years time.
As the sun started to drop later in the evening, we grabbed a few golden hour shots. Summer light at Wethele is unreal when it hits right. It was only five minutes, but those five minutes were worth it.
The Reception
The barn reception had such a good atmosphere. Big laughs during the speeches, a few emotional moments that caught people off guard, and a dance floor that filled up properly once the music started.
This is the part of the day where I just blend in and let it unfold. Real reactions, real movement, real chaos in the best way. That’s where the memories live.
